Professional Headshots are what I would call a “necessary evil.”

Everyone in the business world knows that customers and clients are more likely to buy from someone that seems like a real person. If they can put a face to the business it seems more credible and more trustworthy than a faceless company would. But even more important than that, professional headshots are an integral part of forming your business and giving it a real personality: your personality.

Your business is a part of who you are: inspired by you, it is really your baby. You are your business and they way that you are presented is just as important as how your business is presented. So you now have the pressure to give your business your best you and put it out there for everyone to see. That can be stressful – especially for women – and it does take some amount of consideration.

Of course, there are all the technical photography pieces to consider on my end, but what is much more important than all of that is getting the real YOU captured. Everything from lighting and backdrops to wardrobe and body positioning can speak to what you’re trying to “say” to your audience with this one picture. That’s a lot. Add to it a bad hair day, a stain on your favorite shirt, and a spontaneous thunderstorm and the best of us would probably want to just give up.

But, I promise. 1) It’s not that bad. 2) It always works out. 3) It doesn’t take very much time.

It’s all about confidence, confidence, confidence. If you’re sure of you, sure of what you’re doing, and ready to grin-and-bear the process of being photographed, it is not all that bad and you might even have a little fun with it. After all, it’s not too often that you get to be the complete center of attention with your own paparazzi (even if I am just one person).

At the end of the day, if you can communicate what you want your presence to say to your audience, you can rest assured that we will get what you need to carry your business forward with business cards, social media, or print materials.
