Beautiful You was an event held this spring at our local library, the Dover Public Library. The event was planned and executed by library assistant, Nayla Pica. The event was a celebration of women of all ages with local female vendors from a wide variety of businesses in the community. There were several speakers throughout the entire event, raffles, door prizes, live music with the Kodachrome Babies and complimentary food provided by Dough Co., Mama C’s, and Domino’s pizza. It was an incredible event and I was fortunate enough to be able to provide my services for the day – free of charge – to capture the events and activities.

Here’s a selection of some of my favorite shots from the day!

It was such a huge event and a really great day at the library. Everyone was talking about how much they enjoyed the day and how eager they were to do it again next year. It seems extremely likely that the event will become an annual one – continuing to be held around Mother’s Day weekend.

Obviously, I took many many more pictures than I am able to share here in a blog post and certainly couldn’t summarize the wonderful speakers that were at the event. So, in order to share those parts of the day with others I put together a video and shared it through my YouTube page. It is a little lengthy, but it certainly shares the entire day with anyone who would like to see what it was all about.

This kind of event is one that I adore doing for local businesses. It provided a wonderful opportunity to highlight not only the outstanding entrepreneurs in our local community but also the wonderful library that gave them the space and opportunity to come together in this manner. This is what small town community looks like at its finest and it is something worth talking about and celebrating.
