Happy Birthday, Little Lady! Miss Reagan Nicole turned one and I got the opportunity to be a part of her special day on July 8th at the Midvale Community Park.

I was so excited when Reagan’s mommy, Amber, got in touch to do this session. Just two years ago I covered Easton’s birthday (big brother to Reagan) at the exact same park! We had so much fun with Easton’s party, and Amber really appreciated the relief of having wonderful pictures that captured this special day without her being distracted from celebrating and being with close friends and family.

First birthday’s are HUGE ordeals these days. They are like having several photography sessions rolled into one occasion. You get all of the detail pictures of the decorations (like a wedding), portraits of the birthday baby, pictures of family and friends hanging out together, pictures of the birthday baby with loved ones (especially elderly ones), a smash cake, and play time with all of the kiddos hanging out at the party. There is so much activity taking place that no parent can be expected to be engaged in all of it, and that’s what makes these sessions so special. I have the flexibility and freedom to be “everywhere” and see “everything”. As a result, parents get the benefit of fewer distractions throughout their day without actually missing out on all of those spontaneous moments because I am there to catch them all.

What made this birthday party particularly special was the fact that I had rapport with this family and they had “favorite moments” from our first shared birthday together. So, I got the opportunity to take some “then and now” style pictures¬†with Reagan that were similar to Easton’s. But, obviously her birthday had all of its own unique qualities and memorable touches.

Happy Birthday, Little Lady

There were little touches throughout the room that matched the theme of the day – “little lady” bugs!

When the guests began to arrive, Reagan got to spend some time with friends and family who were so excited to celebrate her day.

And then there was CAKE!

… and then it was time to play!

It was a fantastic party for a wonderful little lady!
